When do you run this class?
Please check the Timetable page for the most up-to-date list of our class times. If you're a member, please check our Facebook pages regularly for details on Open Mat availability.
What should I bring with me?
Just bring yourself! We have bottled water available to buy if you get thirsty, and we provide all the equipment you need.
How much does this class cost?
Please check the Prices page for a list of our pricing options. You can chose to pay for each class, or a monthly fee which entitles you to any and every class.
I have no martial arts experience; is this OK?
We welcome new people no matter what their current skill set is. It doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner or seasoned veteran; we're sure you'll enjoy our classes!
Do I have to book in before coming to the gym?
It's fine to just turn up on the day; you don't have to book in. We may introduce a booking system in future if the classes become too busy to safely accomodate everyone.
What do I need to wear?
Just wear a t-shirt and joggers or shorts! Bring some clean indoor trainers with you as you will need them for training on the hard wood / rubber flooring aread.
If I sign up, will I be tied into a contract?
Not at all! We believe you should be free to come and go as you please, so you will not be forced into any contracts!
What is the minimum age to start training?
You must be at least 15 years old to start training with BigKat in Mixed Martial Arts.
Are there any classes available for children?
Sorry, but due to our busy schedule, at this time we cannot run any classes specifically for children.
Are your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes gi or no-gi?
We run both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes! In the gi class, you also have the opportunity to be assessed and graded by our coaches.
Do you do any classes during the day?
We have a few early morning classes but the middle of the day is reserved for personal training. Please contact us if you would like more information.
I'm new to MMA. Which class should I attend first?
We recommend the Thai Boxing classes to complete beginners as it's best to lean correct stance, balance and striking before moving into Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
